Two Are Better Than One

Eternal JUDGMENT, KRIma, KRIno*, 28x (581), Strong’s # 2917

JUDGMENT IN THE EARLY CHURCH

One. Acts 10:42 (23b-43) JUDGMENT: BY GOD’S ORDAINED JUDGE, JESUS. “And he charged us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is he :ordained of :God as Judgeof living and dead.” Jesus is ordained by God to judge; to judge saints for rewards; to judge sinners. The gift of the Spirit came to Cornelius following this message of following the commandment to preach Jesus as Judge.

Two. Acts 17:31 (16-34) JUDGMENT: RESERVED FOR AN APPOINTED DAY. “Inasmuch as he has appointed a day in which he will judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man whom he has ordained: having given assurance unto all, in that he has raised him from the dead.´ Jesus’ right to judge is proven by the resurrection. He will not overlook the sin of idolatry, but will judge on the appointed day.

Three. Acts 24:25 (24-26) JUDGMENT: A MAIN ELEMENT OF PAUL’S GOSPEL. “And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment:to come, :Felix was terrified, and answered, Go for :now; and when I have a convenient season, I will call for you.” Paul declared Jesus’ death and resurrection, preached repentance and faith, demanded righteousness and temperance, and thundered on judgment to come. Felix trembled at this terrible message.

Four. James 3:1 (1-12) JUDGMENT: AS IT RELATES TO THE TONGUE. “Be not many teachers, my brothers, knowing that we shall receive greater condemnation.” Undisciplined teachers face greater judgment! Disciplined teachers in tongue come near to perfection. True teachers have a right spirit.

Five. 1 Peter 4:17 (12-19) JUDGMENT BEGINS AT THE HOUSE OF GOD. “For the season is come for the judgment to begin at the house of :God: and if first at us, what the end of them that obey not the gospel of :God?” Judgment of fiery trials serve to prove us, purify us from our sin, and lead us to commit ourselves to a wise God.

Six. 2 Peter 2:4, 9 (1-22) JUDGMENT: GRAPHICALLY PICTORIALIZED BY PETER. “For if :God spared not angels that sinned, but tartarizing themto pits of darkness, to be kept unto judgment 9 TheLord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment unto a day of judgment.” Judgment is for false prophets, fallen angels, sinful antediluvians, Sodom and Gomorrah, and for the lascivious at the end of this age.

Seven. Jude 14-15 (3-16) JUDGMENT: A GREAT PURPOSE OF CHRIST’S SECOND COMING. “And to these also Enoch prophesied, seventh from Adam, saying, Lo, theLord came with his holy myriads, 15to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their :works of ungodliness which they have ungodly wrought, and of all the hard thingswhich ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” The Lord with His angels will judge ALL; He will judge the ungodly for words and deeds against Himself. Pay-day some day!
